    Madi Diaz

MADI DIAZ is a bit of a contrast, growing up surrounded by Amish farms, followed with a musical upbringing that included time at School of Rock in Philadelphia and Berklee College in Boston. Her music represents a lifelong attraction to song craft as well her deep-rooted affinity for contrasting types of music; one part pop music and one part organic Americana. Her record Plastic Moon debuted at #20 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and #15 on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart. Madi's music has also been gaining some serious indie cred with Jensen Sportag's remix of “Trust Fall (Down We Go)” and Skeet and Tito's remix of "Let's Go" which recently premiered on the homepage of the Fader and was featured by MTV's Hive. Diaz's songs have also been featured on ABC’s "Pretty Little Liars" and Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva" and "Army Wives."

MADI: Singing is like stretching after I run up a huge hill or spend a whole day in the car or wake up in the morning. It releases me, it calms me, it opens me, it helps me to really be present and FEEL what I'm feeling. Singing is taking whatever I'm feeling and punctuating it. Saying exactly what I'm saying but saying it louder and in a way that I can feel it differently and more than I can in any other.

MADI: Inspiration always finds me differently. It doesn't seem fair to go back to the same place twice when there's just so much out there so I guess I'm always trying to keep my eyes and ears open. It can be just as much a person I see sitting and waiting for the bus at 3am as the sun that I happen to see rising in the morning or the car alarm that keeps you awake for an hour. It's all right there waiting for me.
